Recall Alert: Jeep Liberty Stroller

Kolcraft is recalling 96,000 units of its popular Jeep Liberty strollers due to tire failure, according to TODAY.com The stroller contains a rubber inner tube that has ruptured in several strollers. This is the second recall of Kolcraft strollers in the last month.

At least 18 people have been injured in the 39 reported inner tube ruptures, reported the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Those ruptures occurred mostly as people were inflating the tires. If you’ve purchased this stroller, be aware:

“The recalled Jeep Liberty strollers were sold at Burlington Coat Factory, Sears, Toys R Us, online and at juvenile specialty stores from June 2010 through June 2013, for between $150 and $180.

The Kolcraft strollers involved in the recall were made in China and have model numbers starting with JL031, JL032, JL034, JL035 or JL036. “Jeep” is printed on the side of the stroller and the front of the stroller tray.”

If you own this stroller, stop using it and contact the company for replacement wheels.
